Frequently asked questions
Who are these sessions for?
Anyone who wants more than just a portrait. People who want to explore identity, transformation, self-expression, or simply capture a meaningful moment in a way that’s authentic and beautiful.
What is an Iridescence session?
An Iridescence session is more than a photoshoot—it’s a transformative experience. Together, we’ll explore themes that speak to your story, helping you feel seen, celebrated, and empowered through creative, emotional, and artistic imagery.
Where do these sessions take place?
Your session can be anywhere - location is usually determined by the overall theme of your session and how you want to tell your story. So that could be at the beach, in the woods, in your back yard, or even your living room!
Do I need to prepare or bring anything?
Bring yourself, your curiosity, and whatever items feel meaningful to you. I provide guidance on styling, props, and wardrobe, but this is about creating a space where your story can unfold naturally.
What if I’m nervous or unsure in front of the camera?
That’s completely normal! I’ll guide you gently and create a space where you can relax, play, and discover how to express yourself authentically. Many clients say the process feels surprisingly natural—and even transformative.
How long does a session last?
Most sessions run about 60–90 minutes, depending on your chosen theme(s) and the experience we’re creating. We focus on quality and depth, not rushing through poses.
Can I customize my session or combine themes?
Absolutely! These themes are just starting points. You can pick one, blend a few, or we can create something entirely unique together. Your session is meant to reflect you.
Can we meet before our session?
Absolutely. I think it’s important that the chemistry is right before we take our first picture. I am happy to meet with you in person or in a virtual space so we can get to know each other before the day of your session.
What is your cancellation/rescheduling policy?
Things happen, I get it. Cars break down, people get sick. It's no fun for anyone. That said, I believe it's important to respect other's time, so if you absolutely can't make your session, I ask that you let me know at least 48 hours beforehand. A cancellation with no reschedule date will result in a forfeit of the retainer paid. If you need to reschedule your session, a one-time transfer of the retainer will be allowed. Any subsequent reschedule request will result in a forfeiture of the retainer and a new retainer to be paid for the rescheduled date.
What is the payment structure?
For portrait sessions, a retainer in the amount of 50% of your session fee is due at the time of booking (this secures your date, so keep in mind that until the retainer is paid, I cannot guarantee availability).
The remaining 50% will be due a week before your session.
What is the booking process?
My favorite question! Once we have selected a date for your session, I will send you my contract to review and sign, along with the invoice for photography services. A portion of the overall fee will be due at that time, so you'll have the ability to submit your payment through the portal once the contract is signed. After that, you'll receive a booking confirmation and you're good to go!
Why do I have to sign a contract?
While it's nice to believe that nothing will go wrong and everyone will do what they say they'll do, we still need to protect ourselves. The contract we both sign is there to protect you as the client and me as the photographer. It outlines the terms of payment, the limitations of liability, and sets expectations so everything is clear and understood before we take our first picture.
Will my photos be posted publicly on your site or social media?
I always love to show off my amazing clients, but I respect your privacy and allow each client to decide whether or not they want their photos displayed publicly.
